Jane Taylor, FCAS, MAAA, JD
Jane Taylor is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Member of the American Bar Association with more than twenty five years’ experience in the casualty-property insurance industry.
Ms. Taylor’s experience includes responsibilities at insurance and reinsurance firms, a major accounting firm and consulting firms. As a consultant, Ms. Taylor has performed extensive work for standard, specialty, excess and surplus lines insurers and self-insurers. Ms. Taylor’s work with large multi-line insurers involved a significant amount of reserve evaluation in both standard actuarial methodology along with advanced actuarial techniques including modeling and simulation.
Ms. Taylor has extensive involvement with medical malpractice insurance. Ms. Taylor has also worked with a number of different legal malpractice carriers. In addition, she has participated in the estimation of asbestos, environmental and other mass tort exposures for casualty insurance companies.
Ms. Taylor is an attorney as well as an actuary. Ms. Taylor has been engaged by major insurers as an expert witness in reinsurance disputes, terms of reinsurance agreements, reserving and pricing issues in medical malpractice.
As a lawyer and actuary, Ms. Taylor brings a unique perspective to her analysis of loss reserve adequacy. She also has extensive involvement with mortgage guaranty insurance and asbestos, environmental and other mass tort exposures.
